Software for the design of heat exchangers |
| |
|
|
|
| |
The heat exchanger module is a fully automated design tool that
enables the engineer to design the complete heat eschanger from
the available process data. The design of the heat exchanger will
be in compliance with the relevant codes such as ASME VIII. The
heat exchanger module will also enable the engineer to find the
optimum design solution in relation to safety and constructability.
The design module has extensive reporting facilities such as authority
approval documentation, documentation for construction companies
and reports for the estimating departments. Changes can be incorporated
without any rework, the design module can generate automatically
the relevant revisions in the reports and documentation. The engineer
is supported by an extensive on-line help system during the design
work.

Input sheet |
|
This is the mechanical datasheet for the input of process
data and the mechanical design data. The availabel design parameters
allow the engineer to control every detail of the design process.
The design parameters, for example packing parameters, are available
to the engineer from the built in database. The engineer is able to
modify the standard design data from the database as required or add
new design data to the database. |
| |
Fabrication report |
|
This report contains the design data with the construction
dimensions, a material list, a nozzle list and a setting plan. The
report can be exported to MS Excel for further editing with client
information and can be used as an e-mail attachment. |
| |
Calculation report |
|
This report contains all relevant pressure calculations
for cylinders, heads, flanges, plates, tubesheets and openings. The
weights per part of the heat exchanger and saddle loads are presented
in a separate table. The report can be exported to MS Excel for further
editing to comply with the details of the authority requirements and
can be used as an e-mail attachment. |
| |
Drawings |
|
The module allows the engineer to export a file that can be used
by AutoCAD and other CAD systems that use the DXF file format. The
file contains a basic drawing indicating the overall dimensions
of the heat exchanger ready to be used by the piping and civil department.
The drawing shows:
- Side internal view with dimensions, nozzle and saddle positions
- An overview of the various diameter dimensions, number of bolts
and wall thickness

Helpsystem |
|
The helpsystem informs the user about the module, gives
a graphical representation of the design possibilities and design
parameters that determine the design of the heat exchanger |
